We use as few cookies as possible. Our analytics system collects no cookies. The cookies we do set are strictly functional — they make the site work correctly and remember choices you've made.
1. What are cookies?

They allow the site to recognize your browser on subsequent visits and remember certain information — such as whether you've accepted a notice, or whether you're logged into an admin session. Cookies are widely used across the web, and most websites you visit use them in some form.
Cookies are different from tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or behavioral advertising technologies. We do not use any of those.
2. Our approach
Heypota.com is built to be as lean as possible on the data side. We do not use any advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking scripts. Our analytics are first-party — we built our own lightweight system that records page visits without cookies and without storing personally identifiable information.
The cookies we set fall into two categories: strictly necessary (the site cannot function correctly without them) and preference (they remember a choice you made). We do not set analytical or marketing cookies of our own.

That's it. Two cookies, both first-party, neither used for tracking or advertising.
4. Analytics — no cookies
Our analytics system records page visits to help us understand how the site is used. It does not use cookies. Instead, it captures anonymous, session-level data (page path, device type, country, browser family, referrer) at the moment of the visit. No persistent identifier is stored on your device. No cross-site tracking occurs.
This means our analytics cannot identify you across sessions or across devices. We see aggregate numbers and patterns — not individual behavior trails.
5. Third-party cookies (affiliate partners)
Our Resources section contains affiliate links — links to travel services where we may earn a commission if you make a purchase. When you click one of these links, you leave heypota.com and land on a third-party website. That website may set its own cookies according to its own privacy and cookie policy.
We have no control over third-party cookies. Partners whose links appear on our site may include (but are not limited to):
- eSIM and connectivity providers
- Travel insurance providers
- Train and transportation booking platforms
- Experience and tour booking platforms
Before purchasing through any affiliate link, we encourage you to review the cookie and privacy policies of the destination site. Affiliate cookies are typically set for attribution purposes — to track whether a sale originated from our referral — and may persist for 30 to 90 days depending on the partner.
Clicking an affiliate link is entirely optional. All travel information on heypota.com is available regardless of whether you use our affiliate links.
6. What we do NOT use cookies for
- Advertising or retargeting — we display no ads
- Social media tracking — we embed no social media widgets or pixels

7. How to manage or delete cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are currently set
- Block cookies from specific sites or all sites
- Delete cookies at any time
- Set preferences for cookies before they are placed

Note that deleting or blocking the cookie_consent cookie will cause our cookie notice to reappear on your next visit. Deleting the pota_admin cookie will log out any active admin session immediately.
Blocking all third-party cookies (a setting available in most browsers) will prevent affiliate partner cookies from being set when you click external links, without affecting anything on heypota.com itself.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change the cookies we use — adding new ones or removing existing ones — we will update this Cookie Policy and revise the "Last updated" date. We will also re-display the cookie notice if the change is material. Continued use of heypota.com after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
